CONRAD WINERY (RONDA)
The winery was founded in 1998 by Theo and Anne Marie Conrad. The estate consists of a total of 27 hectares, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, covered with holm oaks as well as olive, almond and walnut trees. The vineyards, which account for a total of 7 hectares, are planted with the following varieties of grape: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir, Malbec, San Laurent and Dorsa.
Our vineyards are situated 4 kilometres from the town of Ronda near Málaga (Andalusia), at the foot of the Sierra de las Nieves mountain range. Rhonda’s climate makes it an exceptional location for vine growing. Our vineyards sit at an altitude of 750m, on calcareous soils. Both characteristics mean that our wines are fresh and aromatic, with balsamic and mineral notes.
Based on the premise that “Quality is born in our vineyards”, our company is constantly looking for new ways to ensure we achieve the quality that sets us apart.
The philosophy of our winery is to create the very best quality wine using the Integrated Viticulture system while preserving the outstanding natural beauty and characteristics of the land from which our wine is produced. The aim of this type of agriculture is to boost the intervention of natural agents, promoting sustainable cultivation practices to ensure that the wine is a true reflection of the character of the terroir where the grapes are grown.
